Naija Pastor Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Armed Robbery

We are now living in strange times. Justice David Kolawole of an Akure High Court has sentenced one Pastor Adeniyi Mathew and three others, Evangelist Akeem Benjamin, Comos Obi and Sherif Ogunleye, to death for their involvement in a bank robbery which took place in 2005 in the state. The men were found guilty of participating in a midnight robbery at the branch of a commercial bank in Akure where N26 million was stolen. Justice David Kolawole found them guilty of a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery. Pastor Mathew and others were thus convicted on the basis of sufficient evidence before the court.

Two Female Students of Covenant University Kidnapped By Unknown Guys

Five gunmen have kidnapped two female students of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State from their home in the Karmo area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Sunday. The girls, Ejura and Onekwu Opaluwah, were taken away in the booth of a blue Honda car with number plate, HR 152 ABC, in what started off as a robbery incident at 5.00 p.m. “It was about 5 p.m that evening when five armed men came into the house and went straight to the room of the girls’ father, Mr Samson Opaluwah, an engineer. They robbed him of his valuables. As they were leaving, they took both girls and put them in the booth of the car. “The abductors then called yesterday asking us to pay N200 million ransom, which they eventually reduced to N150 million.” An uncle of the missing girls, Mr. Amadi Opaluwah, told Vanguard. He declined to give more information for fear of the girls’ safety, but said he believes the abduction was not politically motivated as the father of the girls, who is the procurement officer at the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, is a civil servant, not a politician. “My brother is not a politician; he has no interest in politics, so I don’t think there is any political undertone to this. We are pleading with the abductors to release the girls, they are innocent. Also, I want my nieces to have faith, be calm and patient. By God’s grace, they will be home soon,” he assured.

Pregnant Kefee Needs A Miracle To Survive- Doctors Reveals

Tribune reports exclusively that a Nigerian musician based in the United States has revealed to them that a doctor has told him Kefee needs a miracle to survive. According to the source, the doctor said, the chances of Kefee getting out of coma are slim as her situation not only requires prayers for survival, but also a miracle as she has been diagnosed of having high blood pressure. A Nigerian medical doctor also described the situation as very critical. Dr Adeyefa, told Tribune; “Kefee is in a precarious situation because of the six months pregnancy. If the foetus had been nine months, the doctors would have removed the baby and saved the mother and child. As it is now, not only will the baby not survive because the carrier is in coma, Kefee may also lose her life from further complications. The chances of the mother surviving is narrow, while the kid has a narrower chance. I urge Nigerians to pray for her for a miracle because that is what she really needs,” he added. It would be recalled that pregnant Kefee had embarked on a 14-hour flight to Chicago on Friday, but went into coma, which forced the plane to land in Los Angeles so she could be urgently attended to.

Late Vivian and baby The family of a 28-year-old woman, Vivian Ndukwu, has demanded that the marriage rites of their late daughter must be performed by a pastor of the Christ Embassy, who has been accused of being responsible for the pregnancy that allegedly led to her death. It was gathered that the 29-year-old pastor, identified simply as Hillary, was being detained at the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba, Lagos. He was accused by the family to have had a secret romantic relationship with the deceased, who was a choir member in the church. It was said that in order to avoid scandals, the couple decided to keep the relationship a secret. The secret romance continued until Vivian became pregnant. When it became obvious that they could no longer keep the pregnancy a secret, Vivian was said to have agreed with Hillary that she should relocate to Agbara town in Ogun State to stay with a woman who had an orphanage. Vivian allegedly told her parents that she was going to Abuja. She stayed at the orphanage until she was delivered of a baby girl on May 3, 2014. It was learnt that eight days after the delivery of the baby, Vivian was taken to a hospital after she complained of fever and headache. She eventually died, while her remains had been taken to the Badagry General Hospital morgue. The owner of the orphanage, Mrs. Grace Kato, however, claimed that Vivian never stayed at her place. She said, “Vivian called me three days after the birth of her baby. She said she wanted me to help her with the hospital bills, that she was stranded in the hospital. Out of compassion, I went to the hospital to help.” She admitted that she took Vivian home after delivery to rest at her place for two days before returning to her parents. She added that Vivian, however, ended up staying at her place for five days before she died. She said, “I brought her to my house to rest for a day or two before taking her to her parents. In the process, I had to travel for my uncle’s burial. That was why she stayed that long because she was waiting for me to return. I came back on Saturday night, May 10, and the next day, she complained of a slight headache and we took her to another hospital nearby. That was where she died.” The hospital where Vivian was said to have died, claimed that she was rushed to the hospital unstable and restless. According to a doctor in the hospital, the people on duty stabilized her condition and referred her to a general hospital. The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, “She was brought in on May 11, at about 1.20pm, unstable and restless. The story was that her complaint started that morning. Her blood pressure was also high. Being that we were not in possession of her past medical records, we acted based on clinical situation and referred her to a general hospital. “The people that brought her left and so there was no one to take her to where she had been referred to hours after stabilizing her condition. Several calls to the number they gave us were replied with one story or the other. At some point, the lady started gasping, and eventually died. It was not until the following day that they came to pick up her remains.” The father of the deceased, Emmanuel Ndukwu, told our correspondent on the telephone that the orphanage founder had agreed with her late daughter to take custody of the child after delivery without the consent of the family. He said he and his wife knew nothing about the pregnancy, adding that his daughter left his house and told the family that she was going to Abuja. He said, “After telling us that she was going to Abuja, we did not hear from her until her death. But we later learnt that Grace (orphanage owner) and her husband had organized a naming ceremony for the new baby without informing us. Emmanuel said he was not aware of the relationship between the pastor and his daughter until the sad incident. He said, “My family and the pastor’s family have met and we agreed that Hillary will perform all the marriage rites for my late daughter according to the tradition of our people. We are doing this because a child is involved. The pastor did not deny his responsibility, so the normal thing must be done.” The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed Vivian’s death and added that the matter was still under investigation. Producer K-Solo Tells The True Story: Why Timaya Is Mad At Patoranking

Nigerian superstar, Timaya, is upset with the fast-rising Nigerian sensation, Patoranking. This was revealed by by Timaya’s ex-producer, K-Solo who was responsible for discovering the talent of Patoranking, right before he encountered difficulties in his private life, and subsequently, professional career. Patoranking, 24, hooked up with Timaya in 2012 and is believed to have signed with Dem Mama Records. He also began working with the label’s manager Prince Oluzor. Speaking with Punch, K-Solo revealed that Timaya first met Patoranking in his studio, but stealthily took the boy away, made a song with him, and shot the highly successful ‘Alubarika’ video, which cemented Patoranking’s status as a truly talented artiste. “I learnt Timaya is upset about a young artiste called Patoranking. His songs are actually topping charts at the moment. He featured Timaya in one of his songs. I learnt Timaya said he signed the boy on his label. I know it is a lie. “Timaya doesn’t like paper work. I know that about him. The boy was picked up by another record label and I learnt Timaya is upset about it and saying nonsense about the boy. Why didn’t he sign the boy? He just shot a video for the boy and the new label, as I learnt, is even ready to pay him what he spent but I learnt he refused the money.” “I was the one that discovered the boy at Ebutte Meta. Till now, the boy has an album in my studio. I had released one or two songs for him and I was about to release more when I had the crisis with my ex.” K-Solo reveals. Also explaining that Timaya literarily whisked Patoranking from his studio, after he first saw the light in his studio. “Timaya came to my studio and saw the boy. I don’t know how it happened but they left my studio. I didn’t even mind because when I had that issue, I had to let go of everybody around me. So immediately, Timaya did a song with him and shot the video without any form of agreement. Now, he is saying the boy is an ingrate.” Patoranking has since gone on to greater heights with his new label, Foston Records. K-Solo was solely responsible for the earliest hit songs of Timaya’s first album. But the duo split up after some disagreement. K-Solo believes Timaya’s episode with Patoranking is simply Karma. “Whatever you are doing and you feel it is gone; it will be waiting for you. No sinner will go unpunished. When I was his producer, I produced his first three successful albums that made him what he is today. He never came back to show gratitude; instead he is always fighting me. “If I talked to him to tell him the right thing to do, he felt I had no right to tell him such because he felt he is a star. When I wanted to get married, he was among the people who mocked me. Now, he has a ‘baby mama.’ In life, when we don’t know the kind of death we would have, we shouldn’t laugh at people because we don’t know how our case would be”. K-Solo reveals philosophically. He also added that he is not angry with the ‘Bum Bum’ singer, but stated his decision never to work with Timaya again. He also declined the notion that he wants tangible gratitude from the star. “It is not as if I want to bring him down but I want you to know that nothing lasts forever. It is what you do in life that keeps you going eventually. I was on top of my game before I had the crisis. We should not bite the finger that fed us. God has made me big. I don’t need his money. I can talk about him because I am very comfortable. I don’t pay rent but where he lives today is still a rented apartment even with all his money. “We are not friends on the job. But if I see him on the road, I can say hi to him. If he decides to respond, it is fine but if he doesn’t, it is also fine. Davido bought a house for his producer the other day. It is not as if Davido is working fully with the producer anymore but he never forgot that the producer made his first hit…I don’t want anything from him, it is already late…I will never be his producer ever again! I can only give him advice.”

The actress found it offensive and politely asked bloggers to put it down. Well Mr Alonge Osagie thinks the actress did the wrong thing by asking bloggers to put the pictures down and said what she ought to have done was to put her daughter in place, and start changing the world from her home like she advocates. Danny young was said to have missed his performance as the coppers where waiting to see him at the NYSC camp shagamu last night due to an accident that occurred on the Lagos Ibadan express way. The accident was due to the collision of his vehicle with another car resulted in fire. Danny and his crew managed to escape through the windows and doors as other vehicle owners stopped by, bringing out fire extinguisher from various angles and assisted in putting out the fire. We can’t actually say the present condition of Danny young or his team members that were present in the car but news reaching us says they are being hospitalized in an undisclosed private hospital in Lagos.

Telecommunications company, Etisalat Nigeria Friday sacked over two thousand permanent staffs across the country. The sacked workers were paid off our source say. The Telecom operator seeks to hire adhoc staff to run the operations of the company as the company is said broke and can no longer retain the permanent work force. Most of those sacked have expressed surprise and disappointment over the development which has thrown them into the already saturated unemployment market. “We were asked to leave and our cheques handed to us yesterday, it is unfortunate that I am again back to the Job market” a source who does not want to be mentioned revealed. “They want to recruit contract staff/new agents and they can no longer run the cost of paying those of us that are permanent staff, they claim.” Another source went on to say the management of the company is insisting on hiring contract staff to replace those sacked but “it is unfortunate they had to send us home the way they did” She continued, “Do we even have labour laws in this country? How can you wake over night and ask people to go without months of notice, at least for us to be prepared for the worst”. Some of the reasons by the management for the sack is that the company can no longer manage the wage bill and the company is going through financial crisis and can’t afford to keep permanent staff, hence the need for the sack. In Lagos alone, over 1,200 were sacked while more than 800 were asked to go home in states like kano. The company has also terminated their graduate trainee program for all fresh graduates. The Company sent out emails that the program has ended without prior notice. Some members of the graduate trainee had spent years with the company only to receive mails about their sack at the close of business. Attempt to speak to the management of Etisalat to confirm or deny the allegations has been unsuccessful so far as at the time of filing this report, we’ve sent mails and no response.
